Let's just skip it...

February...next year can we just skip it...?

You would think February would be my favorite month. Valentine's Day and my birthday, all in one week.

Well, I'm beyond birthdays really being more than another day on the calendar. Valentine's Day...let's not even go there. However, I do love my one Valentine that has been there all my life...THANK YOU DAD! And I adore the new little Valentine in my life .. TREVOR.

Anyway, both of these events mixed this year with the funeral of my friend Marla have just made this week very emotional.

So, February...next year can we just skip it...?

Why...?

1. Why do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are getting dead?

2. Why do banks charge a fee on "insufficient funds" when they know there is not enough money?

3. Why does someone believe you when you say there are four billion stars, but check when you say the paint is wet?

4. Why do they use sterilized needles for death by lethal injection?

5. Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard?

6. Why does Superman stop bullets with his chest, but ducks when you throw a revolver at him?

7. Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?

8. Whose idea was it to put an "S" in the word "lisp"?

9. If people evolved from apes, why are there still apes?

10. Why is it that no matter what color bubble bath you use the bubbles are always white?

11. Is there ever a day that mattresses are not on sale?

12. Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized?

13. Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance?

14. Why is it that no plastic bag will open from the end on your first try?

15. How do those dead bugs get into those enclosed light fixtures?

16. When we are in the supermarket and someone rams our ankle with a shopping cart then apologizes for doing so, why do we say, "It's alright?" Well, it isn't alright, so why don't we say, "That really hurt, why don't you watch where you're going?"

17. Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over?

18. In winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer when we complained about the heat?

19. How come you never hear father-in-law jokes?

20. The statistics on sanity is that one out of every four persons are suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best friends -- if they're okay, then it's you.

Questions to Ponder

If a deaf person has to go to court...is it still called a hearing?

Why do they have Braille on drive-thru ATM machines?

If Jimmy Cracks corn and no one cares, why is there a song about it?

Just some silly questions to think about ...

The Kid...

The Kid!

"Tever" He's nearly 3 years old and is developing an attitude. He didn't want his pic taken, but finally relented and let Mom snap this one.

We love him though...he's just too cute not to!

Saying good-bye to two special friends

This past 4 weeks have been pretty sad. On January 18, my friend Eileen Moseley passed away. She was 72 years old. She had been suffering from chronic pneumonia and COPD for quite some time. She finally succumbed to the pneumonia about 2:00 a.m. on January 18. She is now in the company of our Heavenly Father, her husband Jay and their son Doug, the two of which preceeded her all too recently.

My friend Marla (Nicholson) Lynch passed away this last Saturday night (February 9). She was 41 years old and had been staging a brave battle against breast cancer for a little more than 3 years. Feel free to check out her story and journal at CaringBridge.org http://caringbridge.org/visit/marlalynch

She was a beautiful person, and is leaving behind a loving husband, Patrick, and 3 young children: Katie (12), Brodie (5) and Lillie (4).

The comforting thing about her passing is first of all, she is with our Heavenly Father now, and she is no longer suffering in pain and misery.

Rest well my sweet friends. You will be missed and loved always.

So ... this is blogging ...

Well, here I am ... now what do I say? Give me some time. I'll get the hang of it and we'll see where this goes.
